First off, congrats on your success developing and finding something that resonates with you so deeply in the styles of those two photographers. That’s some magic right there.
Your photos are fantastic, I see many that absolutely love, you are working those rolls out, my friend. Nice work.
I’m currently writing a long format on style in photography and a lot of what you wrote is echoed in my piece to some extent. So yeah, style is important to me in multiple ways but it’s highly subjective and maybe even a bit contentious so I can’t wait to get other photographers take when I post it, yours included.
Thanks for your kind words, amigo. Finding style is hard, but I think it’s a noble thing to pursue. As I told Ulices in another comment, it’s a hobbies, but adding fun on top of it makes it never get boring. For example, I’ve never shot as many street pics as the las two months. I finding it refreshing after taking “postcards” (beautiful places and technically ok, but “no life” in them). I’ll keep an eye on your post, I’ve been reading good material here and I’m sure yours will be top notch 👌🏻
Finding your style is not an easy task. I love where you drew your influence from and that you know what you want. I feel like I’m still looking for my “style” in analog.
It’s hard man, well, for me it was hard to understand how to achieve it via film. I’m still experimenting. Good Brian in the comments recommended RPX 25 to get super blacks. I’ll be pushing as many BW I can to see if someone can beat Tri-X. For me, just is having fun. This ks a hobby, but I’m not against of having a bit of purpose.
Hi Liam, I would need one that can stand high speed film. My lovely Konica C35 is falling short on that aspect. If you have any suggestions, it would be very welcome 👌🏻
I'd like to suggest Rollei RPX 25. I find that I get these deep blacks that might be what you are looking for. Great for bright summer days. Haven't tried pushing it yet but might be worth looking into.
Very interesting discussion on your journey.
Thanks for stopping by, dear Cedric 🙏🏻

I love the look of Tmax 3200. Id be curious to see that pushed since it already has some good grain and contrast.
I’ll try whenever I have the chance. I just got a promising ORWO Wolfen P400, seems pretty raw 🤓
Cool find for you, looks like you’re making progress. I could see a point and shoot complementing this style well too

That’s a good point, shutter speed isn’t their strong point

Thanks, Brian. I will check 25 as I have a 400 on the fridge, haha. Thanks for stopping by 🙏🏻
