This little printer is honestly one of the better purchases you can make. The prints are decent quality, and you can work on your edits and sequencing. I have a growing stash of photos on my desk that motivates me to go out with my camera. Also, my family suddenly wants to be photographed. Kids love getting their photos printed, because it looks like magic 🤣

Lovely post! I have a Selphy printer too! And this post just remembered me to use it more! I’ll stop everything I’m doing right now and print some photos!

I have a Canon Selphy CP800. I’ve had it for several years but have hardly used it since it doesn’t recognize jpg’s that have been edited. Is that still an issue with the 1500?

Hi Alicia, it’s weird. The CP1500 doesn’t have that problem as far as I know. My workflow is like this: enhance pics in Lightroom CC. Then, right click and Edit in Photoshop (they are already in JPG) and Print. No issues with JPGs (edited or not).

That’s good to know. Maybe I’ll upgrade. - The problem with the CP800 is all over the internet and even stated on the Canon website - “images that have been edited on a computer may not display or print properly.” - It made the printer basically useless. Even with unedited photos it has a 50-50 shot of working.

💀. Damn, didn’t know. No problems so far with the 1500 model. That’s a really strange behavior for the 800. It’s useless as you say!

Thanks, Rick this was exactly what kind of review I was looking for. I think you’ve sold me on giving it a try.

Thank you, Dave. I’m glad you find it useful. It is indeed a good companion for those photo adventures. I forgot to mention that it can be made portable if you get the battery (sold separately). I’m enjoying mine a lot!

I love mine. I think it's really easy to look at per print costs and then think a $600+ printer is worth it... but these fit so many more people. I bring mine with me sometimes to fashion shoots, and hand out photos for fun. I've got a decent printer nearby, and I can toss him a little money here and there for the bigger prints I want. Selphy rocks. Big agree with you here!

🍻 excellent, Hanz! Yes, it's a pretty good device with cool results for this price and size. I was tired of not seeing my pictures on paper, but too lazy to go to the lab. I'm trying to do everything at home: develop, scan and print, haha. I guess models get happy when you hand them over some pics. Those are tiny little memories for them!

Lol they are so happy. Instant Instagram story post almost everytime. 😆😆

If you've got a good bag, I'd encourage you to bring it to a party or something. Folks have forgotten how fun it is to get a nice photo of them on the spot.

Yup! I will get the battery (on sale). Also, they will remember you! You won't be “just another photographer”. It can lead to new prospects 🤑.
